Long Leg Cast: Extends from the toes to the very top of the leg. A break near the top of the tibia can be fixed with an LLC.SLC
Short Leg Cast: Extends from the toes to below the knee. A break of the lower tibia or the fibula or some foot bones can be treated with a SLC or SLWC.SLWC
Short Leg Walking Cast: Similar to a SLC but the patient can walk on it, usually with an attached heel or a removable shoe.CLC
Cylinder Leg Cast: Similar to a LLC but it doesn't include the ankle.Hinged
Similar to a LLC but the knee is hinged.Cam
Slang for a Cam Walker, a brace for the lower leg, similar to a SLC, which is attached with velcro. Often used during rehab.Patella Tendon Bearing
Similar to a SLC but designed to support the patella as well.Hip Spica
A cast including the legs and hips. A full hip spica has both legs in LLC's attached to a torso cast which goes far up the chest. A 1 1/2 hip spica has one leg fully casted and the other only going from the hips to the knee.LAC
